Soukhna Refinery and Petrochemicals Company (SRPC), Egypt, is setting up a grassroots refinery of 208,000 BPSD capacity. In cooperation with project partner Foster Wheeler France as well as with licensors Shell Global Solutions and Axens, Uhde developed its conceptual design basis and an environmental memorandum. Based on a Basic Design Package from Shell a FEED was prepared for the crude and vacuum distillation units (CDU and VDU). For the refinery‘s early production phase open books exercises were prepared on the CDU, the kerosene and diesel hydrotreaters as well as on amine treatment and sour water stripping.
