Heavy Oil Hydrocracking – Engineering Services Performed for BP

From Oct. 2009 until Mar. 2010 UHDE prepared Process Design Packages and Capital Cost Estimates for BP on residue hydrocracking and direct coal liquefaction units. The project’s background is the reactivation of BP’s VEBA Combi-Cracking process (VCC) that was originally developed to hydrogenate coal to be converted to process heavy oils. The process is able to handle very heavy oil residues and avails the flexibility to maximize either gasoline or diesel output. Read on
