The Nam Con Son Phase Gas Plant Phase 2 expansion, located in southern Vietnam near Vung Tau has been successfully started up and the entire facility is producing according to the design. The contract was with BP Pipelines Vietnam who were the original operators of the plant but have now handed over to the local entity NamConson Pipelines, a subsidiary of the Vietnamese government owned company, PetroVietnam. Uhde undertook detail engineering during 2001/2 for the original Train 1, which was started in 2003 and has subsequently operated with a very high level of availability at rates up to 165% of design, with minor modifications engineered by Uhde. Uhde have subsequently completed the concept selection and feasibility study, FEED and detail engineering and procurement services for the second train installation.
